South Hills Capacity Project

As communities in Southwestern Pennsylvania continue to develop and thrive, the demand for energy is growing. West Penn Power and Duquesne Light Company customers in Collier, Scott, Upper St. Clair and Bethel Park Townships are served by a network of 138-kilovolt transmission lines. To maintain a level of service and reliability while increasing the overall capacity and resiliency of the grid in this area, Duquesne Light is planning to replace the existing transmission line wires.

September 2017 to June 2018

Duquesne Light’s Woodville substation in Scott Township to the transmission tower located on McMurray Road in Bethel Park.

Raccoon Rabies Baiting Project

Dog owners: please make sure that your dog is on a leash.

August 4 – 11 rabies vaccine baits are being distributed across Allegheny County, especially in parks.

Although these baits will not harm your dog, if they eat to many they can get an upset stomach and/or diarrhea.

Please avoid contact with these baits.

Use a latex glove or plastic bag if the baits must be removed.
