SCOTT TOWNSHIP E-WASTE RECYCLING EVENT

On Saturday, November 2nd, between 10 AM and 2 PM, Scott Township will be hosting an E-Waste collection and shredding event at the baseball field parking lot in Scott Park.  The event is for Scott Township residents only.   Below is a list of items they cannot accept.  They WILL accept items containing refrigerant for a fee of $25/each and fluorescent light bulbs for a fee of $2/each.  The fee for paper shredding is $10 per banker’s box.

They can NOT accept the following:

  • Any fossil fuel or materials used in collecting fossil fuels.
  • Any infectious or biological wastes or equipment that contained them.
  • Any media contaminated with oil.
  • Any liquid.
  • Any chemicals, oils, or powders.
  • Any equipment that contains chemicals of any kind.
  • Any equipment that contains asbestos.
  • Any equipment that contains radioactive components (e.g. smoke detectors)
  • Any equipment that contains PCBs (e.g. fluorescent light ballasts).
  • Thermometers
  • Vacuum Cleaners
  • Loose Batteries (all types)
  • Loose Ink and Toner
  • Loose software
  • Household appliances
  • Personal Hygiene Items (e.g., razors, toothbrushes).
  • Any device comprised mainly of wood (excluding console televisions).
  • Miscellaneous trash (e.g,. Holiday decorations)
  • vacuum cleaners
  • alkaline batteries
  • wooden speakers
  • software CD’s
  • floppy disks
  • VHS tapes
  • manuals, paper, and general rubbish
  • ink and toner cartridges
  • Any materials that would adversely impact our operations or result in environmental or health problems.

For the e-waste event, they will accept the following:

Televisions (all sizes and types) (only 1 per car) Computer monitors (all types) Desktop and Laptop Computers Printers, Copiers, Scanners Keyboards, speakers, mice Cables, hard drives, and misc. components of cell phones, small household appliances, cell phone and laptop batteries.
