If you like to watch birds, experience nature with a brisk walk in the woods, or just want to take your dog out for some morning exercise, the Kane Woods Nature Area located on Scrubgrass Road is the place to go.
Three parking lots are available for visitors: A small one is the Whiskey Point Trailhead located at 1461 Scrubgrass Road directly across the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge. The second, larger parking lot is the Scrubgrass Run Trailhead at 1459 Scrubgrass Road, and the third is the Jewish Community Center parking lot on Kane Blvd. All three areas provide easy access to the trail network.
The Scott Conservancy is comprised of local residents who love Scott Township and its wild and scenic nature areas. Volunteers without paid staff or professional fundraisers manage the Conservancy. All the money raised by donations go right back into the community to improve the nature area and maintain the trails.
Please visit www.ScottConservancy.org or call us to learn about Conservancy activities and how you can get involved, our phone number is 412-276-5300 x301.
