The Scott Township Police Department is comprised of 22 officers and a secretary. Our police department handles roughly 6,500+ calls for service each year, plus traffic control, traffic enforcement, drug enforcement, school resource needs, and critical incident response needs. The department handles all of its own investigations outside of homicide investigations, where Allegheny County detectives are called for assistance.

Our department is led by Chief Matthew Podsiadly, an eighteen year veteran of our department. You can reach Chief Podsiadly typically during regular business hours, Monday thru Friday 8am till 5pm.

To report an abandoned vehicle to police please fill out an abandoned vehicle complaint form. Bear in mind abandoned vehicles are any vehicle on a public highway with an expired/suspended registration, expired inspection, or in an inoperable condition. Once submitted, the abandoned vehicle officer will start a process that by law requires approximately ten days to complete.

To report a traffic complaint in your neighborhood, please fill out a traffic complaint form. These forms will forward your complaint to our traffic unit who will put your complaint on the list to examine for enforcement. These will be handled in order of receipt and severity.
