Potential Bus Route Changes

Pittsburgh Regional Transit (Formerly Port Authority)’s Bus Line Refresh initiative is in the final round of public engagement.  This includes some changes to a route in Scott Township. An interactive map and description of the proposed changes can be found here: https://engage.rideprt.org/buslineredesign/BLR-route38 as well as the QR code.

A survey to voice your opinion regarding this potential change can be found on the link. There is also a BLR Pop Up event at Raceway Plaza bus stop on May 1, 2026 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm. PRT staff will be there to review the Bus Line Refresh network and gather your input.

Waste Management will be closed on Monday 1/26/26

Waste Management will be closed on Monday due to the winter storm.  They will be operating one day behind this week.  Monday service will be moved to Tuesday. Thank you in advance for your understanding. Also, please do not shovel your driveway or sidewalk onto the street, it is an ordinance violation. For your safety, please stay off the roads.

Notice on Inclement Weather/Activation of Warming Centers

The Township would like to notify residents that if there are substantial power outages, that warming centers will be activated, if necessary, at Scott Park in the Lodge for those in need during the upcoming storm. While our salt storage is not at full capacity due to issues with vendor supplies and delayed deliveries facing the entire South Hills region, we do have enough salt to get through the upcoming storm.  Later this year, thanks to a grant opportunity, the Township will be expanding its storage capacity to be able to have more salt on hand when needed. We do have sufficient salt for the upcoming storm; however, crews will be prioritizing plowing over salting as conditions require, and we ask for your patience as we work through the event. Please stay safe, monitor local updates, and keep off the roads, if possible, to allow crews to operate efficiently and safely.
