Pool Manager

Job Description

 

The Pool Manager holds ultimate responsibility for the Scott Pool marketing and operations for Scott Pool answering directly to the Township Manager.

Requirements of the role:

• Associates, Bachelors or Master’s degree in Marketing, Physical Education, Recreation Administration or equivalent years of experience.

• Confident, driven and dynamic leader.

• Minimum of two years experience as a manager of a public or private pool or equivalent setting.

• CPO, AED, First Aid and CPR certification preferred. CPO Certification required within (30) days of employment.

• Obtain the following clearances: PA Child Abuse History Clearance and Criminal Record Check
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Follow the American Red Cross Learn to Swim program guidelines

• Red Cross certified lifeguard instructor and Certified Pool Operator

• Communicate with other swim instructors, lifeguards and/or facility staff on the needs of the pool operation

• Educates patrons on the rules of the facility

• Make recommendation on future programs, lessons, equipment

Job Duties and Tasks for: “Pool Manager Operations”

1) Develop pricing strategies, balancing firm objectives and customer satisfaction.

2) Identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of establishment objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.

3) Evaluate the financial aspects of product development, such as budgets, expenditures, research and development appropriations, and return-on-investment and profit-loss projections.

4) Formulate, direct and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working with advertising and promotion managers.

• Development and implementation of the pool activities.

• Developing the marketing strategy for new and existing products

• Overseeing implementation of the Marketing strategy – including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR.

• Working closely with the Township’s Pool Management team; enabling them to meet their objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, materials, and presentations.

• Make recommendations, manage, and oversee lifeguards including monitoring training, workloads and assignments.

• Ensuring that the marketing objectives are implemented.

• Work closely with management team to define marketing materials and programs.

• Manage social media presence and direct programs to improve social media reputation and recognition by supplying the IT Director with the information for posting.

• Oversight of all lifeguards and the pool schedule including but not limited to:

1) Ensuring all paperwork is submitted for payroll processing

2) Ability to follow and give oral and written instructions

3) Ability to work with all age groups

4) Ability to work with minimal daily supervision

5) Ability to work flexible hours with evening and weekend work required.

• Developing and delivering marketing and communications strategies for the organization.

• Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends.

• Oversee seasonal opening/closing of pool.

5) Negotiate contracts with vendors and distributors to manage product distribution, establishing distribution networks and developing distribution strategies.

6) Prepare appropriate reports and deposits regarding the operation of the pool.

7) Prepare end of year report regarding operations

8) Monitor pool facilities and grounds.

9) Oversee, establish and develop aquatics programs as follows:

• Establish and execute fun events for the community such as:

Grand Opening Ceremony

Seniors Night, in addition to Seniors Citizens day time hours

Family Nights

Water Aerobics

Fitness i.e. lap swimming with designated lane

Swimming Team competitions

Weekly Game day-youth

Water Polo

Pool parties, i.e. Birthday, Anniversary, Graduation and other special events
